Sandals and Beaches Resorts plans to reopen on June 4, 2020, (this includes Antigua, Barbados, Grenada, Jamaica, St. Lucia, and Turks & Caicos). The Bahamas locations have a scheduled opening date of July 1, 2020.

In anticipation of welcoming back visitors to its Sandals and Beaches all-inclusive resorts throughout the Caribbean, Sandals Resorts has released Sandals Platinum Protocol of Cleanliness.

The resorts have always been scrupulously cleaned and sanitized every hour of every day. But now more than ever, our existing industry-leading practices are being enhanced to include several pre-emptive cleanliness measures, guaranteeing guests the peace of mind to enjoy their vacation with the utmost confidence of their surroundings. Sandals the brand you can trust.

All-Encompassing 18 TouchPoint Practice

Sandals and Beaches Resorts have completed a thorough research assessment of all points of guest contact throughout their resorts. Resulting in the integration of advanced hygiene practices across eighteen key touchpoints – starting from the moment guests arrive at the airport lounges throughout the entirety of their resort stay.

New Certified Sandals Sanitized Guest Rooms

Upon reopening, as part of Sandals and Beaches Platinum Protocol of Cleanliness, Sandals and Beaches resorts will be implementing an even more robust housekeeping protocols. Including hospital-grade disinfectants, air-duct sanitization, electrical aerosol sprayers, weekly steam-cleaning of carpeting, UV-LED black lighting equipment to inspect for cleanliness, anti-bacterial gels, and soaps, and strict adherence to the Triple-Check System.

After every room is thoroughly cleaned, the door will be locked, and a seal will be placed between the door and the casing to certify that no one else has entered the guest’s room. Bellman or butler will respray and disinfect both the inside and outside of the door handle upon leaving the guest’s room.

Enhanced Triple-Check System For Cleaning And Sanitation

Every area of the resort will require a minimum of three inspections daily throughout each resort, ensuring that all areas are cleaned and sanitized on an ongoing basis. Inspections include all hard surfaces, from door handles and interiors of airport-transfer vehicles to public restrooms (which are inspected, cleaned, and sanitized on the half-hour), swimming pools, and hot tubs. At restaurants, bars, and kitchens, all items and surfaces are continuously cleaned and disinfected.

Additional hand-sanitizing stations are being installed throughout the resorts for use by guests and team members. And all restaurants will have a host providing hand sanitizer to guests before entering.

New At-Home To In-Room Check-In

Skip the front desk and go directly to your room by checking in online. A refreshing welcome cocktail and personal anti-bacterial hand towel and individual in-room hand sanitizer will be waiting upon your arrival.

Also note, guests temperatures will be checked upon arrival to the resort as a precautionary measure.

New Social Distancing Measures

Sandals has always been about romance, and that means our guests have their space to feel like it’s just the two of them. And now we’re introducing new ways to encourage our guests to maintain safe social distancing while still providing a relaxing resort experience. You will discover safe social distance setups in restaurants, bars, and on the beach.

Extending time between check-in of guests and permitting one couple or family in each elevator. Staff members will be taking alternate routes.  Also, adding more airport transfers, so there will be fewer guests per vehicle.

New Team Member Requirements

All Team Members will be required to wear protective face gear and gloves at all times and sanitize hands while interacting with each guest.

As precautionary measures, temperatures will be taken before starting their work shift, and employees uniforms must not be worn while traveling to and from work.

To ensure all team members stay healthy both in and outside the workplace, they will receive ongoing specialized training on precautionary measures geared toward preventative protocols and sanitation practices.

New Supplier Standards

Even vendors, suppliers, and partners of Sandals will be held to the new Platinum Protocols of Cleanliness by restricting delivery windows, minimizing physical contact, sanitizing all touchpoints, and removing all outer packing upon arrival to eliminate any contaminants.
